ALL I'VE GOT

rowan lewis

[]

Finds his ground on the vinyl floor
When ghosts amble into the grocery store
Keep it light, be strong
Keep it together and carry on

Sometimes the corners of his eyes will cheat
And imagine someone sleeping in the passenger seat
He'll pull over and he'll breathe all wrong
Escaping the nausea as he tumbles into the open

And in the dead of spring
When the heat begins to sing
He'll spend all night by windowsills
On guard for anything

What's the point
If oracles with visions can bleed out
Just like the next man?
What’s the point in hiding?

All I've got are smoky rooms and issues
And around eighty seven nightmares
All I've got are catalysts and horrors
Like the world has never seen
All I've got are coffee mugs and mirrors and halls
And survivor's guilt

So tell me: what's the point in hiding?
They’re just gonna find me.”

⊗ TIM WRIGHT ⊗
It's a disease. You see how this spreads. If there's someone left you have to kill them. And then yourself.
When Entry #87 was at last uploaded to the Marble Hornets YouTube channel, Tim had nurtured the fleeting hope that he could finally be done with the problems that had plagued every step of his waking life. A fool's hope, he would learn, as no more than two months later, he found himself stirring awake in the Castle in the Mist, fighting another god's war between the light and the dark. In his brief tenure in Sol Raveh, Tim would garner the impression that he's done more harm, in the long run, than he has good. His last act was attempting to ease another's way, and dying because of it.

He does not blame them; given the road he'd been traveling down back home, such an end would be inevitable.

As it happens, it was not - for he would awaken one day in the archipelago of LifeAftr, alive once more. Unfortunately.

With a lifetime of faulty medical history, in and out of hospitals for most of his childhood, constantly stalked by the rake-thin, faceless entity known as the Operator, Tim remains under the impression that he has only ever hurt those with whom he's come into contact. Alex Kralie's parting words still linger in the back of his head - that he is the source of the Operator's presence, that he heralds Its influence, and that none of Its machinations will end until Tim himself is dead. Cursed from the cradle, broken from the womb, all he can do is hope that in LifeAftr, perhaps there's a chance he can minimize the damage he has the potential to do.

Or maybe that, too, will be a fool's hope in the end.
